On Twitter we will find a lot of profiles on which various types of videos are placed. If you want, then you can download Twitter videos to your computer drive. Here’s how.
We are used to the fact that most videos are placed on YouTube, but this is not the only site where you can find all sorts of funny videos. On Twitter you will also find a lot of profiles that post short videos on an ongoing basis. If you like one, you can download it to disk and keep it for yourself.
Download videos from Twitter
It is true that Twitter itself does not have an option that would allow you to download a video placed on the servers of this social network. This does not mean that it does not go to download them. With one simple page, you can download any video that is placed directly on Twitter (we’re not talking about videos that are posted on YouTube and only linked to them on Twitter)
How to download Twitter video to computer?
While downloading videos from Twitter isn’t complicated, it’s not as easy as with photos, where you just have to right-click and select the “save image” option. In the case of movies, you should adopt slightly different solutions, but as a user of a computer with Windows, macOC or Android and iOS phones, you have a really wide range of possibilities.
Download video from Twitter through external site
This option will work on both computers and phones, but is more convenient from desktop devices. There are many sites on the Internet that allow you to download movies completely free from various sites. If you want to download a movie without a program, follow the instructions:
- Log in to Twitter
- Find a video to download
- Copy the tweet link
- Paste it into the Twitter video download page
- Click the Download button
- A new video tab will open. Right-click on the video and select “Save video as” and select the location on the disk where the movie should be downloaded.
How to download video from Twitter on Android?
Twitter has protected itself well against downloading files from the platform, especially videos. While for many other social networking sites it is enough to simply open the video and save it, in Twitter this option does not work on any device.
One working way is to copy the link to the clip and use sites that offer conversions of such videos. Unfortunately, this is not a very safe option – you can never be sure that along with the video file made available for saving, the user will not be pushed into a virus or other malware along with the video file.
There is also no application in the Android store that would allow similar operation. All because the service providers have agreed to violate copyright and service policies – downloading video may constitute a violation of these.
If you absolutely want to, then download the video from Twitter via the website. Remember that you do this at your own risk.
- Copy the address to the tweet from the video, e.g. using the “Share” button and then the “copy link” option.
- Open the Twitter Video Downloader or TWDOWN or SaveTweetVid page in your browser.
- In the field on the page, paste the copied tweet address.
- After proceeding, you will see a video ready to download or a link to save the file. Save it in the device’s memory.

Click Share and save to the Photos app.
